Internal Memory (RAM) and RAM/Cache

Random Access Memory (RAM) often represents open or empty space on the computer’s memory. This space is filled up when running programs. There are many types of RAM and it is held into the motherboard and dictates how fast programs load whilst starting up. Having more RAM means you can load more things simultaneously at one time, without the system slowing down.

ROM is a specific type of computer storage that cannot be changed or altered. It CAN – But it would take great difficulty. ROM also stands for Read Only Memory, being memory that can only be read, and not changed. Because of the nature of the Data, and how it is store this also means the ROM drive is a solid state drive, information cannot be removed.

The Cache often stores data that has been previously used, transparently (You can't see it) so that it can be accessed much faster in future uses. The data that is stored may be duplicates of original values and could be store elsewhere. When these files want to be accessed; they could refer to the Cache for faster loading times. Sometimes, people may clear their cache so that they are able to make their computer/internet run faster than it would previously.
