Hard Disk Drive Config and SATA/IDE cables

The BIOS is often used to set up SATA and IDE configurations for Hard Disk Drives. These can also be controlled by the BIOS when starting up the computer; certain hard drives can be switched off, or combined. (Such as Partitions) These connectors are used to connect the Hard Disk Drive to the computer, and also used to configure them so that the computer recognizes them. SATA is the more modern version. You can also connect multiple drives up. Such as a Master drive and a Slave drive. A master drive is used as a main hard drive to store data on, whilst a Slave Drive is a Drive that can store other Data on that is less useful. It is also used to conserve space on the computer.
